Seventy-one Australia Awards alumnae from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam came together to participate in the inaugural Regional Women’s Leadership Initiative hosted by the Australia Awards Cambodia in partnership with the Australian Alumni Association of Cambodia.
The Australian Ambassador to Cambodia, Her Excellency Angela Corcoran officially launched the event. ‘The Australian Government is committed to supporting these women and to strengthening women’s empowerment, professional development and leadership’ the Ambassador said. Chansouk Insouvanh, an alumna from Laos, noted that ‘women inspiring women is a powerful tool to boost women’s confidence in taking leadership roles’.
