Ministry of Education and Sports transformative training for over 150 technical team members

Managed by Tetra Tech International Development on behalf of the Australian Government, BEQUAL aims to ensure more girls and boys of primary school age, particularly those experiencing disadvantage, improve learning outcomes.

Since the rollout of the new national primary curriculum in Lao PDR in 2019, the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) has actively engaged in transformative educational initiatives, securing support from the Australian government and USAID through the BEQUAL program.

In a groundbreaking move, the Ministry of Educations and Sports has launched a series of capacity development workshops focused on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at target Teacher Training Colleges (TTC).

These workshops are a vital component of a comprehensive strategy to enhance the skills and capabilities of educators, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the demands of the modern classroom and contribute to the holistic development of their students.

Beneficiaries receive training in vital mentoring skills for fostering educational excellence

The journey commenced at the Khang Khay and Savannakhet TTCs in the last week of September, and extended its reach to Luang Namtha TTC in the early days of October.

More than 150 technical team members across these institutions have been beneficiaries of this transformative training, acquiring vital mentoring skills essential for the fostering of educational excellence.

The workshops are a segment of a larger framework of capacity building initiatives directed towards the technical teams of these three key TTCs.

The Department of Teacher Education (DTE) plays a pivotal role in this endeavour, ensuring seamless implementation and valuable support, all under the generous auspices of Australia and USAID.
