Basic education in Laos getting a boost thanks to new grade 1 curriculum

This week, Australian Ambassador Carrasco proudly co-chaired the BEQUAL Steering Committee Meeting with the Education and Sports Minister, Mme Sengdeuane Lachanthaboun and the European Union Ambassador to set directions for the program in the next two years. The meeting endorsed BEQUAL implementation plan highlighting key program activities such as primary Grade 1 curriculum implementation in September 2019 and supporting teachers in the implementation of the curriculum. Australia is proud to have a long standing partnership with the Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR.
